Trekking

Afternoon hike to Lake Condenado

One of many HUGE termite nests found throughout the jungle.

This is our guide, Yuri. A thirty-one year old Peruvian native with a bounty of knowledge about the Amazon. He also had a great sense of humor and a memorable laugh.

Swimming anyone??? We fed crackers to the piranhas and spent the golden hour on the lake.

Across the lake we checked out a couple of crazy looking trees.

This is a picture from the inside of one trees.

Our new friends from around the world

The sun went down on the hike back to the lodge. When we turned off our headlamps we could see fireflies all around us.

Yuri spotted a tarantula and was crazy enough to pick it up.
